The fly fishing season has started!

After winter, only memories and some snow in the Tatra Mountains remained. The last days of ski season on Kasprowy Wierch is a sign that it’s time for fly fishing in Podhale area 😎 The first trips and the first trouts caught are behind us. During the first weekend of May Zakopane and the surrounding area are under a tourist siege – the best escape from this hustle and bustle is a trip to the river with a fishing rod under the supervision of a guide. The best time of year for fly fishing!

Autumn is undoubtedly a great time for fly fishermen and people who are considering learning this method. In October and November, the water temperature drops, which is a signal for fish that winter is coming and they need to eat. Our favorites at this time are graylings, which eagerly take small insects from the water surface. The dry fly time! By the way, you can observe brown trouts spawning but you have to move around the river so as not to disturb them. Our guides are happy to share their knowledge about the love habits of trouts 🙂

Apart from all the beautiful nature, fishing in autumn is very comfortable. There is no heat that can be so exhausting in summer. Autumn temperatures ranging from a few to a dozen or so degrees Celsius mean that we don’t feel hot in waders, but to prevent our feet from getting too cold, two pairs of thick socks are highly recommended!
