The fly fishing season has started!

After winter, only memories and some snow in the Tatra Mountains remained. The last days of ski season on Kasprowy Wierch is a sign that it’s time for fly fishing in Podhale area 😎 The first trips and the first trouts caught are behind us. Upper Dunajec river

Dunajec river beginning takes place in Nowy Targ from the connection of two rivers – Bialy (white) Dunajec and Czarny (black) Dunajec. Upper part of Dunajec is between this place and the estuary in a Czorsztyn dam lake. In upper Dunajec you can catch more various fish species than in Bialy and Czarny Dunajec where trouts and graylings dominate. In the upper Dunajec besides trout and grayling you can also catch barbel, chub, nase (sneep) and the dream of fishermans called ,,queen of Dunajec”- huchen. The nature of the river gives huge opportunities to try every fly fishing method. Doesn’t matter if you are an advanced angler or beginner, at upper Dunajec everyone will find a perfect place for himself.

San river

San is one of the biggest polish mountain rivers. It is a worldwide known fishery. Special stretch begins below the hydroelectric power plant in Zwierzyn village. This part of the river captivates with its beauty and wildness. Wise administration of local association for years led to a rich population of grayling, trout and danube salmon which attracts fishermans from all around the world like a magnet. Rafting + fishing tour

For those who are hungry for experience, we have something special – rafting down the swift current of Dunajec river as a warmup before afternoon fly fishing. 

It looks like this: we pick you up in the morning from an agreed place in the Podhale area and take you to the starting point of the rafting to Sromowce Niżne village where ,,Fun Time” company steersmen will take care of you. The rafting takes about 3 hours and ends in Szczawnica town, where you have an hour free to do sightseeing in this charming town, eat lunch etc. Then we pick you up from Szczawnica, go to the fishery where you will jump into waders and enjoy the afternoon fishing under the supervision of professionals. Return to your accommodation in the evening around 8-9.

  • For groups of 4-6 people, we recommend a pontoon with a steersman exclusively.
  • With up to 3 people willing, the rafting takes place on a pontoon with other Fun Time customers
  • 2-person kayaks are also available. We recommend this option to people who have some experience in kayaking.
